Ukraine’s defense-industry lending program reaches 211 agreements worth UAH 12.5 billion

As of Published

What happened

Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense reported that its preferential-credit program for defense-industry enterprises has produced 211 credit agreements totaling UAH 12.51 billion since its launch in 2024. Eligible companies can use the financing for investment projects or working capital related to weapons, military and special equipment, ammunition and components. Loans of up to UAH 500 million per enterprise are available at a 5% annual interest rate, with terms of up to five years for investment projects and three years for working capital; the state covers the remaining financing cost.

Why it matters

The program gives Ukrainian defense manufacturers subsidized financing to expand production capacity, buy equipment and components, and meet current needs linked to defense orders. The Ministry of Defense says the mechanism is intended to accelerate growth in domestic defense output and increase weapons supplies to Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
