What happened

Wild Hornets said Ukrainian forces used its Sting interceptor drones to destroy about 1,600 Russian Shahed-, Geran- and Gerbera-type drones in September 2026. The company said Sting ranked first in effectiveness for the 12th consecutive month. From October 2025 through September 2026, it attributed more than 15,500 Russian drone kills to Sting, including over 10,000 Shahed and Geran strike drones.

Why it matters

The figures point to sustained operational use of Sting as a Ukrainian counter-drone system against Russian strike drones. Wild Hornets linked some of the results to its Hornet Vision Ctrl remote-control system, which it said was used by pilots in three of the four most effective combat units. The company also said the Sting S had destroyed about 10 Geran-4 drones and several small Geran-5 cruise missiles by Sept. 21. Separately, Ministry of Defense authorization enabled Wild Hornets to form its own air-defense groups for the Night Hornets unit.
