PET analyst reports Russian sabotage targeting Danish defense suppliers to Ukraine

As of Published

What happened

At a Copenhagen security conference, Danish Security and Intelligence Service (PET) analyst Josephine Christensen said sabotage operations had become substantially more active from early summer after limited implementation in spring. She described untrained recruits being contacted through Telegram and social media, sometimes first tasked with reconnaissance or photographing sites. Russia’s embassy in Copenhagen rejected the accusations as baseless.

Why it matters

The targeted companies supply defense products Christensen said directly affect the front line, making the reported operations a threat to that production-support channel. The report identifies no resulting production losses. As context, Christensen recalled an April Russian Defense Ministry list naming several European drone and component producers as potential military targets, although that list is separate from the reported operations against Danish firms.
