Ukraine codifies Phantom Defense’s Blade interceptor, opening a procurement pathway

What happened

Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence codified Blade, a vertical-takeoff-and-landing interceptor with day and thermal cameras and a ground station for telemetry, video and flight control.

Why it matters

Its vertical takeoff and landing means it does not require specially prepared runways, while its day and thermal cameras are described as supporting around-the-clock tracking and guidance against aerial targets. Codification makes the Ukrainian-made drone eligible for procurement for the Defense Forces. Phantom Defense says the milestone also opens a path to scaling production.

L7 United triples its workforce and recruits for defense-technology capabilities

What happened

The Ukrainian defense technology group now employs more than 250 people after tripling its combined workforce over the preceding year. It is recruiting 37 specialists across simulator development, manufacturing, engineering, data and cybersecurity, supply, and business functions.

Why it matters

The expansion gives L7 United a larger personnel base across technical and manufacturing functions relevant to its work on military simulators, 3D printing, and metalworking. Its simulators have been used to train more than 500,000 personnel, and the additional staff could provide additional capacity for expansion.
