What happened

Danish company MyDefence has provided Ukraine’s Defense Forces with about 2,000 Wingman drone detectors, according to commercial director Ulrik Garde. The systems include the Wingman 103, which uses an external battery, and the smaller, lighter Wingman 105, which has an integrated battery.

Why it matters

The reported deployment adds significant counter-drone detection capacity for Ukrainian troops and small units. Wingman operates passively, allowing users to detect drones or their controllers without emitting signals, and can measure their bearing with accuracy of up to 30 degrees. The detectors identify signals in the 2.4, 5.2 and 5.8 GHz bands, or across 200 MHz to 6 GHz with the XF wideband antenna. MyDefence says its signal library helps classify targets and reduce false alarms.
