Denmark guarantees $113 million loan for Fire Point’s planned rocket-fuel plant

Companies: Fire Point

As of Published

What happened

Denmark will provide a state guarantee for a 750 million Danish kroner ($112.6 million) loan to Fire Point’s Danish subsidiary, with financing arranged through the Danish Export and Investment Fund (EIFO). The financing supports a solid rocket-fuel plant under construction in Southern Jutland near Skrydstrup Air Base. The plant is planned to begin operations by the end of 2027.

Why it matters

The guarantee addresses Fire Point’s reported difficulty securing credit in Denmark on standard commercial terms because of the war in Ukraine. If the plant becomes operational as planned, producing solid rocket fuel in Denmark would place part of a Ukrainian defense-industrial supply chain outside the reach of Russian strikes. Fire Point also has agreements with more than a dozen European defense companies to supply components for its planned Freyja system, but those agreements are separate from the guarantee.
